The directors of CAEL have contributed positively in the Jamaican economy. Collectively they have participated in a historical first mover renewable energy project for Jamaica. Their professional backgrounds are diverse and span areas such as finance, accounting, law, quantity surveying, project management as well as occupying senior executive positions in Jamaica's Public & Private Sectors. In addition their experiences and achievements are exemplary and added value for the company. Wesley McLeod, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer wesleym@caelja.com Wesley McLeod is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Clean Alternative Energy Limited. Mr. McLeod is responsible for day to day management of the company, strategic planning, generating company policies and investments. He is an entrepreneur and former General Manager of the over J$1 Billion award winning (Project of the Year and National Quality Award) Wigton Windfarm Limited which developed the single largest wind park (20.7MW) in the English speaking Caribbean. As General Manager he successfully implemented the project ahead of schedule as well as led the successful negotiations of the first emission reduction purchasing agreement (ERPA) in the English speaking Caribbean for the trading of carbon credits arising from the operations of a clean development mechanism. This translated into expanded business revenue sources for that company. Prior to his appointment as General Manager, Mr. McLeod was the Group Internal Auditor for the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica Group. His contributions included several value-added recommendations that resulted in savings and increased efficiency for the Group. Wesley was a member of PCJ team that developed the Pre-Feasibility Study for the importation of liquefied natural gas [LNG] into Jamaica. Mr. McLeod led the process that secured the Laughlands property in St. Ann for development of a small hydro electric plant as well as initiated the revisit/updating of the feasibility studies for that project. He led the initial digital wind mapping of the island of Jamaica that has been used to identify potential areas with good wind regimes for further data gathering/analysis. He has also prepared feasibility studies for wind projects in Jamaica. For the Wigton Phase II [18MW] Wesley successfully prepared the Project Proposal as well as lead the negotiations with wind turbine manufacturers and financial institutions for the development of the project. Wesley also developed the successful Technical Cooperation between PCJ/Wigton to the Inter American Development Bank (IADB) that resulted in an award of US$750,000 grant funding to Jamaica (via PCJ). Wesley has worked in the energy sector for more than a decade, worked in Jamaica's financial sector for more than a decade as well as with U.S. international management consulting firms. Wesley has presented at several conferences (notably Platts, SATIS and Latin American Forum) on the topic of wind and renewable energy. He has formal training in the field of accounting and finance including membership to professional bodies and is a graduate of the University of the West Indies with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Florida International University. He has also received specialized training in strategic cost accounting, wind planning, grid integration problems and negotiations. Christopher Townsend, Director christophert@caelja.com Christopher Townsend is a director of Clean Alternative Energy Limited and is responsible for the legal and corporate affairs activities of CAEL. He oversees the development, revision, and compliance of the organization's policies and procedures with all applicable laws and regulations as well as provides management with advice and counsel concerning laws impacting the organization's functional areas. Mr. Townsend is the senior partner at Townsend, Whyte & Porter Attorneys-at-Law firm www.twpattorneys.com. He has spent more than two decades in the legal field in Jamaica. Chris is one of Jamaica's prominent Advocates in both civil and criminal matters. His other practice areas include Conveyance, Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury and Probate and Corporate negotiation. Mr. Townsend has lead his firm in many distinguished legal challenges. Chris also has experience in the energy sector where his firm provided legal advice to the state-owned Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica group generally and in particular The Wigton Wind Farm, and such instructions included the review of the first emission reduction purchasing agreement (ERPA) signed in the English speaking Caribbean. Williams, Director rogerw@caelja.com Roger Williams is a director of Clean Alternative Energy Limited. Mr. Williams is responsible for project implementation, review of project costs as well as ensuring the achievement of CAEL goals and objectives. Roger is a qualified Quantity Surveyor with over thirty five years business experience. He is the former Managing Director of Garron Limited, and during his tenure Roger lead that company in many impressive consultancy efforts. Mr. Williams was the Quantity Surveyor for the historic first commercial wind farm project in Jamaica that was constructed to generate and in part his recommendations contributed to the project owners realizing cost savings in expenditure. Roger specializes in Project Management, preparation of Bills of Quantities, Pricing, negotiating contracts on behalf of clients, Cost and Status Reports on projects for financial institutions and general pre and post – contract services. He has worked in the public and private sector in Jamaica and in the United Kingdom. Mr. Williams has formal training in the field of quantity surveying with a Bachelors of Science degree in Quantity Surveying from Polytechnic of Wales and a Diploma from University of Technology.
